Msitu Kwetu Lodge & Safaris

We were 11 people in three units during the middle of winter. The accommodation itself was lovely and the rooms were serviced daily, but all three nights we struggled with hot water and very weak toilet flushing. We raised it several times and nothing was fixed. We were only told not to have everyone bathe at once. The six-sleeper unit also needs attention: it has just one bathroom, the sliding door doesn't lock, and it doesn't close properly, so you can see someone showering from the sides. We won't return or recommend the place. I still haven't received my breakage deposit, despite asking repeatedly. The woman hasn't sent proof of payment and doesn't answer my WhatsApp messages unless we post a review. Saying it was paid doesn't mean I got it. And we're not vindictive South Africans, as your message suggested. We called at 11 pm because we expected hot water at a four-star establishment and didn't know bathing was restricted by time. My husband's 40th was the next day. Our family, no friends, stayed up by the fire for a late supper, so we bathed late. Llewelyn answered and said he'd check, even though the woman was shouting in the background that we should wait until morning. That put a sour note on the start of what should have been a happy occasion. You acknowledged our complaints each day but didn't resolve them. Please return my deposit or provide proof that you have.
