The tents were well set up with everything we needed, even USB charging, though there was no Wi-Fi. After a hot day, the pool was a welcome way to cool off. We didn't see the hippos, but loved spotting zebras and giraffes. The food was great and the staff were lovely.

The boat trip down the river was our highlight. Drinks were supplied on the boat or on the banks after we got back, and the peace was sublime. We also took lovely walks in the area and spotted giraffe, nyala, hippos, zebra, and amazing birds. We had three lovely nights at Zululand lodge as a family of five, with children aged 9 to 14. The kids slept really well in the tented accommodation, listening to the sounds of the night, and so did we. It's quiet and peaceful, and has a way of bringing you back to yourself and the essence of the African bush. The communal areas are comfortable and tastefully decorated, with a nice selection of books. We enjoyed hanging out there before supper and sharing dinner at the long communal table. I believe you can request a more private meal in the boma if you'd prefer. The food is simple South African fare, so don't expect gourmet, but it's made with love and we never went hungry. Well done, guys. Super place.

We only had two days, and I wished we'd stayed for a week. After a bush walk and breakfast, it was lovely to settle into the tent with a book and the bush all around us. The walk let us see hippos, the pool was beautiful, the staff were super friendly, and the tents were fantastic.

Thanks for a great weekend, Zululand Lodge team. I loved the comfortable rooms and all the shared spots where you could read or relax. The new pool is great for summer. At night you can hear the bush, and we could hear a leopard walking around. A really great weekend away.

The best part for me was sitting around the open fire, chatting and sharing stories. We also had a lovely walk through the fever trees and along the river banks, and waking up to the bushveld view through the tent door, with the hippos honking, was lovely. We spent two nights at the lodge. The tents were spacious and very clean, and the accommodation was comfortable, with good beds and a nice hot shower. Staff were attentive and very friendly. The food was delicious and plentiful, with lots of lovely vegetables and salads. The homemade scones and bread were absolutely divine. Highly recommended!
