Kapama Southern Camp

Food was one of the best parts of the five nights we spent at Southern camp. Every day it was exceptional, some of the best I’ve eaten. The staff were all lovely and nothing was too much trouble. Adolf and De were our guides, and Sam looked after us at meals. The rooms were huge and well equipped, with really comfortable beds and a well stocked minibar. We saw the Big 5, which was our main reason for choosing Kapama, plus some of the secret 7. There was a huge variety of wildlife, including wild dogs, porcupines, turtles, tortoises, snakes, and loads of owls, eagles, and vultures. We’ve been on safari in south Africa before, but this trip was much better. I can see why people return. Southern camp exceeded our expectations, and I highly recommend the lodge and reserve for a safari holiday.

The food was sensational, and this honeymoon became our best travel experience so far. The lodge made every detail feel personal to our celebration. Huge thanks to Lebu and Nicholas for their care, and to Eleck, hands down the most knowledgeable guide we’ve ever met. We’re leaving with full hearts and amazing memories. Don’t hesitate, just book it.

We had two game drives every day, with drinks and snacks, plus three meals with plenty of delicious choices. There was also a spa retreat for unwinding and options like bush walks and other activities. We saw all Big 5 animals and even more that amazed us. The staff were ready to do whatever they could to make the trip great. Kapama Southern Camp was just right for our honeymoon safari, and I’d highly suggest it to anyone wanting an all inclusive trip. Our mid-November 2025 stay at Kapama Southern Camp turned into one of the best experiences of our lives. Carlos and tracker Emanuel made a brilliant team, mixing humor and knowledge with real passion for wildlife. The Brazil couple and the family from Washington D.C. who shared our safari vehicle quickly felt like family, and our waiter Sam always made sure we had what we needed. We loved the atmosphere and every moment there. The accommodation, food, cleanliness, service, and especially the game drives surpassed anything we could have imagined. Returning is a question of when, not if. If you’re thinking about booking Kapama Southern Camp, just do it. It’s a once in a lifetime experience.
