The staff were friendly and helpful, and when I reported noise from one of the rooms one night, they dealt with it immediately. But I had booked two nights and checked out after one because the stay was short and uncomfortable. My room was tiny, extremely hot, and had only one window that opened. I couldn’t open the curtains because there was no lace curtain, only the main one. The plug by the bed was being used by the TV, and the only other outlet was high up on the opposite wall, where I think the TV was meant to go, so I had to unplug it to charge my devices. The kitchen was in another building, just a short walk but inconvenient at night. I used a shared bathroom, and there was no toilet paper during my stay, so bring your own.

The place was clean and tidy, and the staff and manager took good care of guests. Most things I needed were within walking distance, and the price was right. I especially liked eating my meals in the garden. I had one of the larger rooms with a private bathroom. It worked for me, and I’d definitely come back.

Beatrice (the hostess) and the whole staff were very accommodating, and I had a really nice time. My room was immaculately kept, and I liked the layout of the public areas, especially the conservatory. The WiFi needs fixing, though, and the reception sofa is ancient and a bit tatty. Depending on your taste, it belongs in a museum or on the scrap heap.

Jones, you are AWESOME!!! We checked in at 6pm and got over-the-top service. Everyone was friendly, helpful, and happy to accommodate our every whim. The beds were comfortable, the rooms clean, and the garden peaceful. Eastgate mall is just around the corner, the highways are a block farther, and every amenity is within walking distance. If you need somewhere to stay, this is it. Thanks so much for the great service, keep it up.

We loved our cozy room at 51onYork Guesthouse, and it was so affordable for my fiance and me. The uncapped wifi and boardroom were handy when I needed to join work meetings. Thanks for the wonderful hospitality!
