The breakfast menu was delicious, and check-in was easy since all the details had been shared in advance. Agterplaas has private parking and good security, and it’s a lovely place to stay in Melville.

The owners and staff treated me with a level of care I hadn’t experienced before as a differently abled person. I had such an awesome time at this guest house, and the food and hospitality were wonderful. I could go on for ages!

I had to book at the last minute, and this charming guesthouse turned out to be a real gem. The owners were so welcoming, and the room and amenities were spotless. The gardens are beautiful, the views are stunning, and breakfast was delicious. I’d happily recommend Agterplaas and would love to come back.

I stayed for about 3 nights in march 2024 and had a really good time. What stood out most was the value for money. The location felt safe and was well situated, and everything was very clean. Our room was spacious, with a retro, old-school style I personally liked. Friendly service, a generous breakfast, and good general facilities rounded out the stay. Water and electricity availability is usually controlled by the government, not the business.

Coming from Taiwan, I was struck by how safe and beautiful the area felt. The hosts were warm and helpful, and the included breakfasts were yummy. It was a very safe, happy-feeling stay.
