Grand View Bed & Breakfast

The venue was just right, clean, and the breakfast was on point. We really enjoyed our stay, and the staff were very friendly.

Check-in was seamless, and the room we were assigned was spacious enough for our two children to wander around. We also found the place quiet while traveling with them.

The view of Sandton and the surrounding areas really suits the name Grand View. Brixton felt quieter and safer than the nearby suburbs, and the guesthouse was clean and neat, with very affordable accommodation. We only needed a place to sleep for a couple of nights, so the basics worked for us. Just be aware that breakfast is cereal only, tea and instant coffee are in the kitchen rather than the rooms, and there are no fridges in the rooms. My colleagues and I showed up on a Sunday afternoon after a booking at another hotel in Braamfontein fell through, hoping to find rooms. The staff were friendly and helpful, and got us checked in quickly. I’d definitely return if I need a place in the area. Good value for money.

The ladies were super friendly, and the rooms were clean, but there was no fridge or kettle. One room had a leak, so we used another room to shower. The pool wasn’t very clean when we arrived, and the exterior could use some paint. I wouldn’t recommend it for a vacation with friends because the rules are too strict: no music or hubbly, and they turn the lights off at 11. But I would recommend it if you want to take your side chick/guy there.
