I stayed for five weeks and felt safe the whole time. Marcus, Alen and Gail were kind, friendly hosts and always ready to help. The guesthouse is in a safe, well-located neighborhood, with clean, well-kept rooms and a delicious complimentary breakfast. It’s peaceful there, too. Marcus and his family even treated me to brunch at a fancy restaurant on my departure day and drove me to the airport. They also arranged a tour of several tourist attractions, which was a lovely bonus. Their hospitality was extraordinary. I’d recommend this place for a long stay.

This was our third stay at Upper Houghton Guesthouse, and we’d gladly recommend it. Marcus and his family always make us feel welcome. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable, with an en suite bathroom. The breakfasts were delicious, nicely presented and more than enough. It’s good value, and we’re looking forward to coming back.

There’s lots of space, and the hospitality was on another level. I felt like a Queen during my two days here. The green, beautiful setting makes it easy to get away from the city and collect your thoughts. You can relax in the sun by the pool or on the patio, and the antique furniture adds to the peaceful feel.
