Travetel OR Tambo Airport Hotel

The rooms smell mouldy and look as if they haven't been maintained since the 80s. The photos are incredibly deceptive, the rooms look nothing like the website. It's dirty, and the patchwork on every finish from floor to roof is some of the worst I've seen, and I work in the trades. The way it's advertised on Bookings.com is utterly deceitful. Shame on you. You have no business charging those rates.

After a long flight, the welcoming staff made my partner and me feel at home straight away. We had a fantastic stay. The room was spacious, and the beds were comfortable. We appreciated the tea and coffee in the room, but the included breakfasts were the highlight: delicious and more than enough to start the day. It was just what we needed for a short stay by the airport, and we'd book again next time we're passing through. Thanks to all the staff.

We used to love staying here and supporting the place, but we won't come back after the way we were treated. They booked rooms for us after we'd told them how many people were coming. When we arrived, they said we needed to book another room, even though we'd given them the guest count from the start. We trusted them when we booked, and staff need to know what they're doing. Their reply isn't truthful. We always stay there and know the rules. The person who booked for us needs more training. We told them how many people were coming, two rooms were booked, and we paid a deposit. Don't claim we hadn't paid for more rooms.

The kitchen staff weren't welcoming, and the internet was poor in rooms farther from reception. The electricity went out early in the morning, and after hours a staff member came to my room to switch it back on.
