The Halfway House Hotel

The hotel needs a serious clean and fix-up. The air conditioner wasn’t working effectively, and the bathroom towel rails were broken. There was black mildew on the shower floor. We were two guests but had only one set of towels in the room; reception said each room only gets one set. The pool wasn’t clean either. Reception said it had last been cleaned the previous week and advised us not to swim, even though it was 36°C. AGvdW

I wouldn’t return. The place has potential, but poor maintenance is letting it fall apart. The older section, rooms 1 to 12+, wasn’t properly maintained; the rooms nearer reception seemed newer, so insist on a higher room number if you stay. Reception weren’t very helpful: they gave us a key and left us to hunt for our room. They knew two people were staying, but on each of the three days we had to ask for a second set of towels. On the third evening, it never arrived.

The Wi-Fi was really slow, and the room smelled stuffy. I’m not sure those mats get cleaned. Staff are always willing to help, but the rooms need more effort put into deep cleaning. This was one of the single rooms with one double bed.

A beautiful hotel with clean rooms, comfy beds, secure parking, and friendly, helpful staff. We’ll definitely stay there again.
