If you're going to the nearby Big Hole, this place is an ideal companion to the visit. The club was built as Kimberley's diamond industry grew, and its history is everywhere. It's a beautiful, grand old clubhouse that now welcomes all kinds of visitors, with a comfortable room and lovely breakfast. A real gem, pun intended, given the diamond history. Highly recommended!

On Monday night, the nearby taverna played loud music all night. There was no staff on duty at 22h00 to help the unhappy guests, and Committee Members never replied to my queries. I was the only guest in the Hotel that night, and was also told it was going to close and relocate. None of this difficult situation was explained upfront during booking. I wouldn't recommend staying there at all.

The place has a timeless feel, and I really like its history. If you're after an ultra-modern hotel, it may not suit you. The rooms are well maintained, the WiFi is good, and the staff are pleasant and genuinely helpful.
