Cybele Lodge

Trevor is an incredible cook, and both he and Andrea know how to host. They were attentive, considerate, and went out of their way to take care of every need. I was impressed by their attention to detail and how knowledgeable they are about SA, the area, and plenty of other things. They're well traveled and can keep you enthralled for hours if you want. The place feels like a beautiful oasis in the middle of Hillcrest, as if I'd been transported somewhere else. This is my go-to place in Hillcrest!

Our business guests were treated like royalty at Cybele Lodge BnB, and came away better off for having met Trevor and Andrea. They had excellent food and could choose whichever dishes they liked. Trevor and Andrea also followed up about their arrival and departure and gave me feedback on the stay. As the PA arranging the booking, I was guided at every step and treated with great respect and professionalism, from the start of the booking right through to the end. Every detail was handled so well it went beyond a 5-star rating. I won't forget the experience, and after seeing what service can be like, I'd use them all the time. If only other providers gave this kind of service. Thank you, Cybele Lodge. You're the best! Diane Alborough (Doctor's practice)

Breakfast was always tasty and beautifully presented, and having it practically on the doorstep of the forest each morning was an added bonus. Our rooms were comfortable and spacious, and our adult children loved the extra Netflix channels. The dogs, Boris and Laica, were simply too adorable to ignore! My family of four stayed for quite a while, and we were so impressed and grateful for the kind, warm, generous, excellent service from Trevor and Andrea. They knew so much about Durban and the surrounding area, which made the stay more interesting. I could go on, but simply put, it was worth every penny. I'd highly recommend Cybele Lodge.

The garden is lush and full of beautiful birds, and Hillcrest itself is lovely. Cybele Lodge feels like going home, with warmth, charm and softly trilling birds rather than brass, glass and glitz. The guest bedrooms are set apart from the main house, so there's a sense of privacy. The owners are welcoming, attentive and helpful without being in your face. It's a comfortable home for relaxing and restoring. Breakfast is generous and deliciously wholesome, and we were lucky to enjoy a superb dinner Trevor prepared. After a day of travel, having such an excellent meal in the comfort of a home was a real treat.
