Hazelonz Guest House

The place was noisy through the night because a party was going on, and the rooms aren't very nice. Only a few rooms have air conditioning, so summer can be rough. Brenda, who manages one of the premises, was the one bright spot. She was very friendly and helpful, and made the stay somewhat bearable.

I wouldn't recommend this guest house. The website photos don't reflect the place, and there were multiple problems during our visit. The shower doors were broken, blankets were very dirty, there wasn't enough cutlery in the rooms, and the toilets were broken and didn't work properly. The cars didn't feel safe because the gates were left open until the early hours. Employees' friends arrived late with other people, and the guests were told those people were part of management. We were also told some had lived on the premises for more than six months. One staff member claimed she was the owner's daughter, which wasn't true. Staff members partied late and didn't respect guests. They physically attacked the property's security guard, so we had to call the police at around 2 a.m. The pool cleaner said he was part of management, demanded drinks from guests and took them without permission. He then insulted and swore at guests.

It was a really good stay. The rooms were clean, and they take good care of their clients.

When the power went out at 8:00 p.m., there was no inverter, generator, or rechargeable lamp. I was handed a candle about two inches long. I called at 8:15 p.m. to ask what was being done while I sat in the dark, and the experience was not good at all.
