Aestas Bed & Breakfast

I only stayed one night and already had plans, but the host still shared plenty of useful information, maps, and recommendations. The hosts were informative, the place spotlessly clean, and it’s centrally located within walking distance of the waterfront. Breakfast was cooked to order, and they also offered laundry service. There’s a large clean pool and secure parking. I’d definitely recommend staying here and would come back.

A nice touch was getting an automatic upgrade to a bigger room since one was available. That shows they care about customer satisfaction. The staff were professional and polite, the room neat and well finished, and the food fresh and good quality. Just two bits of positive criticism for improvement: the bathroom extractor fan could use a regular wipe or clean, and a mat in front of the shower would be a good idea. Neither would put me off staying again. I’d happily book in future.

We were six people on a road trip, taking three rooms for one night in Knysna. The rooms varied in size, but that didn’t bother us. What stood out was how clean they were. Breakfast the next morning was great as well. Feeding four vegetarians can be difficult, especially in South Africa, but the innkeeper took the evening to check which foods would suit us and offered breakfast alternatives. Terrific! It’s a privately run, welcoming B&B. The innkeeper was really friendly and gave us personal tips for our stay and the drive back. I’d absolutely recommend it as a stop in Knysna on a road trip.

There are nice hikes nearby, and Leisure island is a lovely spot for an afternoon at the beach. Knysna’s a great place to spend some time. Our B&B room had a fridge and a balcony with a nice view, a perfect place to unwind at the end of the day. The hosts were great too. It’s a short walk to the restaurants in the city centre, and most streets are well lit at night, so we felt quite safe.
