We felt safe and well cared for the whole time, which mattered a lot to us as two women traveling alone. The guesthouse had a warm, respectful atmosphere, and we felt comfortable from the moment we arrived. The rooms were modern, beautifully decorated, and spotless, with thoughtful details throughout. Breakfast was freshly made and a lovely start to each day. Collien was a kind, attentive host who was there whenever we needed something, and her heartfelt hospitality made the stay special. Everything was perfect, and we’d return in a heartbeat. Highly recommended! Aziza ❤️

The rooms have plenty of space, the amenities are high quality, and breakfast is good. Hide Away is very well located, less than five minutes from the town’s main restaurants, with easy N2 access whether you’re heading east or west. Colleen and Cecil were great hosts. When we arrived, she gave us a helpful overview of the area and the activities happening in Knysna during the Oyster festival. Highly recommended for a Garden Route stay.

We arrived very late after being delayed, and Colleen and Cecil were patient with us and made us feel at home the whole time. They also shared excellent tips for the region. The recently renovated Hide Away Guesthouse is in perfect shape, and the rooms are spotless, flawless, and very well cared for. The breakfast was very good too. Colleen and her husband Cecil are a dream team of hosts, and we’d definitely stay again.

Hide-Away Guest House canceled our December booking very late, in November, because the owner needed the unit for the holidays. They referred us elsewhere, but we were squeezed into a one-bedroom, non-self-catering unit with our five-month-old baby. What an inconvenience. Fortunately, we found other accommodation and only had to stay there for two nights. Truly unacceptable.

Coleen and Cecil know the area very well and gave us great recommendations, from taxi services to tours and places to eat. They’re magnificent hosts. The rooms were spacious and clean, and breakfast was fantastic. This is one of the nicest places I’ve stayed, and I really recommend visiting if you’re in the Knysna area.
