Orange Inn Knysna

We stayed at Orange Inn in mid November 2024 after finding it on Google Maps while looking for cheap B&B accommodation. We arrived with low expectations and were amazed: it’s a sparkling, almost-new modern hotel with (I think) five or six rooms. Our room, Falcon, was fully outfitted, with a safe in the closet. At other places we’d struggled to get the TV working, but this one worked and had a good choice of global channels, so overseas visitors can keep up with events back home. The staff, a manager and two girls, were friendly and helpful throughout. Rose deserves a special mention: her warm smile and gentle humour made us feel welcome right away. Breakfast was excellent, with lots of choices. I recommend the omelette, and my wife was delighted to be offered poached eggs. Well done, girls! You looked after us beautifully, and we were sorry to leave.

We were in a bind and they helped us find another place to stay. Thanks for the excellent service.

The worn furniture, especially the couches, and the mold all over the bathroom made for a disappointing stay. The facilities were outdated, and the high price didn’t match them. I wouldn’t recommend this place when better options are available. I booked through a reliable platform, but the owner hadn’t claimed the initial payment, so they insisted I pay a second time. I called the platform, and they insisted I should NOT PAY AGAIN. The broken front gate was also a security concern since it had to be opened by hand and anyone could open it. When I returned from dinner at 11 pm, I found it half-open.

Great hospitality and a great place to stay. The room and bathroom were better than most 5 star Hotels, and both were super comfortable and clean. Booking and Check-in were extremely professional. Top Class, highly recommended, and I’ll definitely be back.
