The owners’ reaction at Protea Guest House made for a very unpleasant visit. My partner needed to pick something up, so we left the car by the door for about a minute. Both owners came out shouting and spoke to us aggressively. Guests should feel welcome, and this was intimidating and completely inappropriate. If parking there isn’t allowed, they could have told us politely. That way of speaking to guests is unacceptable for a guesthouse. We stayed at another guesthouse just around the corner, 6 Protea, and its owner was incredibly kind and friendly. We’d highly recommend staying there! :)

I felt completely safe there, and the accommodation was spacious, clean and stocked with what I needed. The hosts were attentive and very accommodating, doing everything they could to make me feel welcome and comfortable. Thank you for such a pleasant experience.

Our log cabin was spotless, beautiful and equipped with everything we needed. The host Anon and his wife were friendly and helpful, especially as it was our first time in Knysna. There was parking, breakfast came to our door each morning, and the place was cleaned and towels changed during our stay. I loved the trip and would go back in a heartbeat.

The spacious room had a lovely forest feel and a great view over the Lagoon. It rained on a few days, and I really enjoyed sitting by the window.

The main log Cabin, "Loerie", sits among the trees and has a lovely deck looking out over the lagoon. It felt like a proper getaway, peaceful and quiet, with plenty of space and very comfortable beds. Anon and Jeanette were warm and friendly hosts who made us feel at home. We could walk to town and the waterfront. Such a relaxing weekend, and we’ll definitely be back!
