Knysna Quays

We had a very disappointing stay because of the reception service. The staff were rude, and service was really bad. We had booked three rooms, but none had bottled water. When we asked, they told us to collect it ourselves from the reception desk. We had to keep asking for something as basic as water, then go get it ourselves anyway. What’s the point? The lift wasn’t working either. Honestly, I’d rate the service 0/100. Very disappointed.

Being close to the waterfront is about the only thing this hotel has going for it. There’s no daytime food menu, so if you’re at the pool and want to eat, you have to get dressed and head to one of the waterfront restaurants. Very inconvenient. Our room was cleaned, but the towels weren’t replaced. The lifts were out of order, there’s no gym, and the place feels run down. Not what you’d expect.

The staff were kind and helpful, and there’s a large buffet breakfast, though nothing special. The pool is nice, but despite being heated it wasn’t very warm, and all you can see from it is the room windows. There’s private parking for a fee, and the hotel is easy to get to. A good stay, but nothing out of the ordinary.

The room we booked was a little small, but the hotel is gorgeous and the location was perfect for walking to dinner. Breakfast was amazing and had halal options. We loved hanging out by the pool between activities, and it was very family friendly. Best stay of our trip, absolutely loved it.
