The golf course was amazing, but the men's bathroom lights weren't working. The toilets in the men's locker rooms and on the men's side of the spa weren't clean. They should be cleaned before guests arrive.

We love the Simola Country Hotel. The spa is clean and welcoming, with everything we want, friendly stuff, and a newly refurbished sauna. The views from the spa and gym are exceptional.

This 5-star luxury hotel sits high above Knysna, with stunning views across the Knysna Heads, lagoon, river, and mountains. It makes for a scenic, relaxing stay.

I keep returning to Simola for the spectacular views, and I always book directly through Tracy. The apartments are special, spacious, and well furnished. The spa and golf club are world class, and the whole package is well priced compared with 5 star hotels worldwide. February and September are great times to visit, warm enough and not too busy. The hotel was built to a very high standard over 20 years ago, though a few areas may need updating. Knysna water can look slightly brown, but it meets SA regulations. As is normal throughout SA, very few people drink it straight from the tap. Bottled water is supplied and always available. I’ve found all the staff very friendly and accommodating.
