We ended up staying three nights and could easily have added more. The hotel made a great impression, especially how it blends artifacts from the old building with modern comforts. The food was good, there were nice wine choices, and both breakfast and service were excellent. Knysna also worked really well as a Garden Route base, with plenty to enjoy nearby. I'd gladly stay here again on a future South Africa trip and recommend it to friends.

The lagoon and boats were right there in the view from our room, and Thesan island was a perfect spot. It was easy to reach the boat charters for sunset trips and lagoon or ocean cruises, and we could walk to local places like sirocco. Parking felt safe, and the room had a small kitchenette with tea and coffee. What makes this hotel so memorable is the old power plant machinery worked into the design. Emilio at reception was great, the staff were lovely, and the restaurants were good. We had fantastic breakfasts, especially the green banana smoothie. A real highlight of our Garden Route trip.

Watching the sun set with a good cocktail was a highlight. The location felt safe, there were good food options close by, and shopping for ladies was excellent. I also liked how the building's earlier features were incorporated into the hotel. A great find.

We had such a gorgeous room looking out over the water, and spent the whole day relaxing by the pool. I also had one of the best massages I've ever had. The decor was lovely, and the fire going in the evening made it a perfect RoadTrip stop. An incredible honeymoon stay.

The restaurant is the hidden gem here. The menu made me want to try everything, and after three days, nights, and dinners, I can say it was the most delicate, best food I've had in many years. The chef is extraordinary.
