The quick, simple check-in went especially smoothly because we’d booked ahead. We spent one night here at the end of September after a very long drive, so we could enter the park before travelling north through Kruger. Crocodile Bridge is smaller than some camps and was the second busiest of the four we stayed at. The level ground has fairly spacious, marked pitches, with water taps and electricity shared among four to six pitches. Each spot has a movable braai, and there are plenty of shade trees where monkeys watch for an easy snack. There’s no restaurant, but the camp has a small coffee shop beside a souvenir shop that also sells supplies, plus a nearby petrol station. The ablution blocks were clean and roomy, and there’s a laundry. Roofed washing-up stations are spread around the camp and have electric hobs; the one near us had three of four hobs working, with just one ring on each. People used the wall-mounted instant hot-water geyser to fill flasks before early safaris. The pitches are dirt, but a big grassy area between the camping section and chalets gave children a good place to play. We liked how the camp was laid out.

The team made our stay feel special, from the reception staff, including Alive, to Jonas, who came by each morning with a big smile and quietly cleaned and washed our braai. The housekeeping staff were always cheerful and helpful too. Our bathrooms stayed clean and fresh, and the whole camp was kept tidy. Steven, the camp manager, also kept noisy holidaymakers in check, which we really appreciated because we came to Kruger to relax and enjoy the quiet of nature. The rangers were great as well. We spent 3-21 February 2026 at Crocodile Bridge. Our first night was in Safari tent nr 6, which was neat and clean. The next morning we moved to the camping area, picked a spot and pitched our tent. We camped there for 18 nights under lovely shady trees, in a quiet setting with good birdlife. Some animals came past the fence to greet us. For our last three nights, starting 19 February, we stayed in Safari tents nr 8 and 2 before leaving on the 21st. We bought a few things at the shop and thought the prices were a bit steep. Luckily, Komatipoort Spar was only a 15 km drive away, and going there was a nice outing. Our time at Crocodile Bridge was an unforgettable pleasure. We’ll definitely visit again. Keep up the good work, Crocodile Bridge camp!

The views across the Crocodile River are stunning, and there’s great game viewing close to camp and along its fence. Crocodile Bridge is one of my favourite rest camps, a peaceful spot for a proper bush experience. It’s fairly small and has no restaurant, though the shop is more than enough for the odd thing you need. I loved it.

We only passed through on our way out, but it looked like a nice place. The shop staff were friendly and helpful.

We were leaving KNP and only stopped for the shop, picnic area and toilets. The shop was well stocked and the staff friendly. The toilets were clean, but old and in need of maintenance.
