The beds were really comfortable, the rooms were clean, and the place is quiet in a good area. Still, I left disappointed. I booked after seeing the online photos and reading the reviews, but once they had my money it felt like they were dodging the problems. The pool had been out of use for over 6 months, and nobody told me when I booked, even though I was travelling with kids. The aircon came on but didn't cool the room. I asked to move, but was told all the rooms were the same and that only one aircon in the whole place worked. Kuruman gets very hot, so working aircon matters. Towels were another problem: either they didn't have them or didn't want to provide them. For three people in our room, there was only one coffee, one tea and one coffee cup and glass. You had to ask for things you'd already paid for. The shower drain was so slow that I was standing in dirty water. The staff were helpful, but they couldn't move us or provide things, and the manager was always away from the property. At R900 a night, I'd rather stay at kuruman country Lodge. What this place offers feels worth R450 per night. It could suit local travellers, but not tourists unless they're fine with a backpacking kind of stay. If the bed hadn't been so good and the room clean, I would've demanded a refund, but my time in kuruman was short. Pub love, if you're charging what 3 star places charge, you should offer 3 star facilities or lower the price. The value doesn't match the cost.
