Old Fisher House

The location is ideal, with the kite beach, restaurants and bars all within walking distance. Peter and his team are super friendly, and the breakfast is really good, with nothing left wanting. The rooms are quiet and clean, with comfortable beds just as shown in the pictures. I’ve become a regular guest and highly recommend the Old Fisher House.

My girlfriend and I stayed here on 22 September, and the whole experience was outstanding. I liked it so much that I came back this week with my father. Peter and John were warm and welcoming, and their attention to detail was beyond what I expected, like a 5 star boutique hotel. The location is perfect, about a 43 second walk to the beach 🏝️. The rooms are immaculate, and the shower toiletries are honey infused. And the breakfast! I don’t think you’ll find better quality in the queens palace. I personally guarantee a great experience. The host is passionate and incredibly hospitable, and does his best to make you comfortable. I travelled with a group for work. Some of us stayed in the self-catering double story house across the road, with a sea view, kitchen and one bathroom. The rest of us had sharing rooms, each with its own toilet and shower. Breakfast was the best part. A bowl of muesli, yogurt, fresh blueberries and strawberries was waiting in the dining area, and hot breakfast was available on request with different sides. Juice, tea and coffee were on hand throughout the meal. None of the rooms have air conditioning because it’s so close to the beach and usually cool year round. Heaters and fans are available.

Breakfast was a real treat, and the staff were warm and ready to help. Peter made sure I had what I needed and was helpful well beyond what I expected. He’s German and clearly loves South Africa; as a guide, he also shared useful tips and local insight for making the most of a stay. The guesthouse felt as clean and comfortable as a 4* hotel. I’d happily recommend it.
