Buhala Lodge

Lunch on the deck let us take in those views, and one evening a baby hippo even wandered under it to graze. We loved watching the hippos, and seeing giraffes, elephants and crocs along the winding Crocodile River was stunning. Our family of five came to Buhala for a special 60th birthday, and the stay became the highlight of our trip. The team, especially Elsa and Bianca, made us feel like we were the only guests. Nothing was too much trouble. Our rooms were beautiful and comfortable, with everything we needed, and Mavis and the team served delicious food. Supper was a relaxing end to the day, talking over what we'd seen and listening to the night animals. Before the early safari drives, hot drinks and a tasty packed breakfast were ready for us. Mr G and Connor took great care of us and taught us about the wildlife while doing their best to make each drive special. The whole team gave us a warm welcome, and the family who own Buhala must be very proud of them. We'll definitely return. Thank you, Buhala. The Griffiths Family

We went on two safaris with Connor, who was so knowledgeable and worked hard to make the experience special. We saw all the big 5, plus wild dogs, which we were told are rarely seen, as well as giraffes, elephants, hyenas, zebras and more. From our elephant suite we could watch hippos in the Crocodile River, and elephants wandered past our deck. The views were spectacular, and the bed was so comfortable that we had our best night's sleep. Everyone on staff was friendly and helpful. Xolani deserves a special mention for always being cheerful and so attentive. The food was amazing. I'm vegetarian, and had some really tasty meals. We had a wonderful trip and would love to visit the buhula lodge again.

It costs a bit more, but Buhala Lodge felt worth it. We loved watching the sunset there, a lovely way to relax in comfort and enjoy nature. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, and made us feel at home. The kitchen had closed by the time we arrived, but the staff still prepared something vegan for us, which we really appreciated. They also have a delicious three-course meal option, and the dessert was outstanding.

In the first 10 minutes after we arrived, we spotted elephants, hippos, a rhino, a huge crocodile and kudu. This beautiful lodge overlooks the crocodile river. The food was very good, and the staff clearly enjoy taking care of their guests.
