Margate Beach Club

We’re still here and my three kids are having a blast. The rooms are spotless, the linen is crisp, and I haven’t seen a single ant. I’m so impressed, it’s hard to believe. I’ve found my place in the south for sure. The cleanliness and rooms can rival most five-star resorts, and this place really sets the standard. Loving every minute!

The unit was clean and well maintained, and we had a lovely stay, but a few things got in the way. The rooms felt stuffy without air conditioning. The lounge fan barely worked, though thankfully the bedroom fan was fine. Our fridge didn’t cool very well, and a slightly bigger one would have helped too. When we booked, we were told our unit wasn’t sea-facing but that there was a small side patio off the main bedroom where we could see the ocean. There wasn’t. We said we’d happily use more points to move if a patio unit opened up. After two days, one was visibly empty for the rest of our stay, but reception didn’t try to help us move. We had to wait until the Holiday Club’s working hours to call, and that went poorly too. By Tuesday, we were finally told the unit “does not belong to the Holiday Club”. I also wish the check-in staff had explained the cleaning service and other offerings more fully. I know check-in gets busy, but a quick verbal explanation to a group would have worked better than just handing out a leaflet.

The rooms were comfortable, tidy and spotless, and the staff were so friendly and helpful. Kids have great game rooms here. The beach is only a few minutes’ walk from the rooms. I’d definitely recommend it!

The self-catering kitchen has everything you might need, and the facility is well cared for, with very friendly, helpful staff. It’s a beautiful resort, and the beach is right behind the swimming pool. My only concern is the bedrooms in the two-bedroom unit: they have no windows, so they’re pitch dark and feel claustrophobic.
