The view from our room, #4, was absolutely amazing, and the rooms themselves were spacious. It's a short walk to the nearest beach, and the service was friendly. They allow pets and the rates are affordable. The place looks a bit rundown, though. In the room there was a kettle, fridge, TV and AC, but nothing else. There's also a kitchen and living room area that I think guests can use. Fine if you just need somewhere basic and quick.

It could work for a very big family, but it was horrible for a romantic trip or a small group holiday. Some rooms were in poor condition, the water was cold, the swimming pool was disgusting, and it didn't feel safe at all.

The view was great, but the patio furniture was wobbly. Roofs leaked over the beds in two bedrooms and in two bathrooms. The place needs a proper deep clean, and some crockery was broken or patched. There was a broken window and a rotten wooden frame in the upstairs bathroom, and the upstairs sliding door kept getting stuck.

The rooms have tea facilities and DStv, and the whole place was clean, quiet and private. The housekeepers were kind and helpful, and gave us a warm welcome. The owner was always there to help. Even without a car, she would safely take you to her establishment, which has a beautiful garden. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone wanting some time away from home.

Palmgrove Lodge is a beautiful place to relax and enjoy yourself in private, without disturbances. Groups, couples or solo guests who want to share some happy times should come here.
