La mer a has beautiful sea views and affordable rates. The apartments are hygienically clean and well maintained, with a modern kitchen, updated utensils, and a washing machine with a tumble dryer.

I called before booking to make sure everything I needed was in place, but there were too many faults. I'm not usually one to complain, because this place has so much potential, but the braai stand wasn't working and was in poor condition. The plug points were loose, the inside bin had no lid, and the oven didn't work.

The view is spectacular, and it's a wonderful, spacious, very clean place. I had a great time at LA MER and will definitely book there again. If you're going to Margate, go to LA MER. Thanks to Luzelle and Yvette for their communication and help getting me the place.

Fantastic place, but the pool needs some attention and is a distance from the flat. There aren't any activities for children, so if you don't want bored kids, this may not be the place for you.

The hygiene was the biggest problem. Our apartment was very dirty, with cockroaches everywhere, and it hadn't been cleaned to a proper standard. The neighbours were very noisy, too.
