HomeBase Kruger - Hostel

We stayed two nights and had a very good breakfast that was great value for money. The staff were friendly, the rooms clean and neat, and the place is beautiful, with animals roaming around. It's also close to Kruger Park.

The room was comfortable and had everything I needed, and I liked the interior and outdoor decor. I had to find somewhere late at night after work unexpectedly kept me in the area. Ian was the only person who answered and still had a room, and he was very friendly and accommodating. Marlothi was nearby too, which was handy when we needed food at 9pm and had nothing with us.

The rooms are clean and comfortable, with large beds and whisper quiet, effective air conditioning. Ian and Lydia are friendly and professional, and the food is hearty and filling. This is a lovely place in Marloth Park, close to Kruger NP. It's not a five star place with an infinity pool and butler, but if that's what you're after, you can probably find it elsewhere. I booked through a package operator that included game drives and transfers. Next time I'll contact Ian directly for a transfer from Joburg airport and ask him to arrange game drives with his buddy Jacub. My ideal stay would be three days: full day drives with Jacub on the first and third days, 12 hours each, with a rest day between. Highly recommended.

We had a fantastic stay, and I'm happy to say we didn't run into any of the problems mentioned in some lower ratings. The hosts and staff are fantastic, the facilities are well kept, and the rooms really are serviced properly every day. Service is excellent, the food is great and very reasonably priced, and the WiFi is decent. I'd gladly recommend it.
