Imbube Safari Lodge

The animals gathering around Imbube were my favourite part. The host was warm, sweet and helpful, breakfast was great, and the rooms felt luxurious. It was such a comfortable, beautiful place that I couldn't find anything to fault. I'd love to stay again.

We were told on arrival that only basic electricity, like the lights, was working, but later that evening there was no electricity at all. A generator sat in the lounge. The staff were polite, but seemed to have no idea about customer service, and were lying around in the communal lounge. Based on our stay, I don't see how this place earned such a high rating. I travel all over SA for business and leisure, including other places in Marloth Park, and this was the worst place I've stayed. It's a pity, since the place has a lot of potential. The accommodation wasn't great and the photos gave a misleading impression. We had read reviews praising the food, but there was no dinner available and nobody told us beforehand. Breakfast wasn't what we're used to, and we had to ask for milk for our coffee. The pool needed maintenance, the pool area was dirty, and all the chairs there were sun-damaged and torn. Some paintings had been taken down, leaving holes in the walls.

Xoli was an amazing host, and we really enjoyed the week. The breakfast was excellent too. We'll be back!

We had a great stay in early December 2018. After a day of driving, the pool was a lovely place to relax. The food was great and the staff were amazing. Wildebeest, zebra, kudu and warthog often come into the yard, since the manager feeds them pellets every day.
