Kruger Cottage

We had an incredible experience, especially seeing the wildebeest, impalas, kudu and warthogs come by. Our host was attentive and accommodating, and went above and beyond to make us comfortable. I'd highly recommend booking this lodge.

Animals came and went all day, and the little bush babies at night were so special. We spent four nights in a clean, well-equipped house, with a bathroom for every bedroom. Absolutely wonderful stay, and I'd definitely recommend it.

We paid R2000 a night at Kruger Cottage, and it turned out to be our worst stay in Marloth, where we'd stayed many times before. The geyser didn't work, there wasn't even a candle or backup light for loadshedding, and there was no outside rubbish bin, so we had to carry the rubbish in our car to the dumping site. They advertised full DSTV, but it didn't work at all. There was no walk through for animals either. A bad experience for such an expensive rate. I don't recommend it, especially at that ridiculous price per night.

We had several visits from impala, bush babies, zebras, vervet monkeys and mongoose. One impala slept by our bedroom window every night, as the last, slightly unclear photo shows. This is a lovely three-bedroom thatched house within walking distance of the river. The kitchen is well equipped, there's a lounge with a TV, and all three bathrooms have showers with hot water. Ceiling fans kept the house cool on warm summer nights, and there's covered parking. Great place for a great stay. Just cook inside if it's raining, don't braai.
