I'll remember waking up to lions calling to each other, with birds and crickets in the background, for the rest of my life. We also walked through the Conservation and went along to feed the Lions on Friday morning. They were majestic and clearly well cared for. The accommodation was fantastic, with everything your heart could want. I definitely recommend it.

Marloth Park has plenty of game, and shops, a fuel station and restaurants are available nearby. Komatipoort is also close for shopping, while the Crocodile Bridge entrance to Kruger National Park is even closer. Staying here is a convenient, cheaper alternative to accommodation inside Kruger, with the option to drive into the park each day. It's a great draw for nature lovers. Just be careful when leaving the house or car: predators like lions, leopards or hippos sometimes cross the river into Marloth Park. An encounter is remote, but it has happened on numerous occasions. The accommodation is a private residence offered as a holiday chalet, opposite the Crocodile River and close to Kruger National Park.

The owners put exceptional time and effort into the details. The kitchen is fully equipped with modern, expensive appliances, and the home has all the luxuries for a self-catering holiday. We were there during daily loadshedding, but the inverter backup meant we barely noticed the power cuts. If there's such a thing as five-star self-catering, this is it. I'd definitely recommend Lion Hill @ Kruger.

Lion Hill @ Kruger won us over as a holiday destination. It's modern, very clean and well looked after, with great facilities. Definitely one of the best holidays we've had.

Barend was wonderful, and everything we needed was right there. It was a privilege to stay in such a beautiful house in a lovely part of our country. Many thanks, Barend!
