We loved staying here and will be back soon. The animals were incredible, the rooms clean and comfortable, and it was very quiet during the week. The showerhead needs replacing.

Wildlife came to welcome us almost as soon as we arrived. First giraffes, then warthogs, and then my favourites, the zebras. Photos and word of mouth don't capture what Mopani Villa is really like. The rustic house is beautiful, with AC in the bedrooms, three bedrooms and four beds, two bathrooms, a shower and a huge bath. There's also a microwave, dinnerware, towels and soap. Outside, we had a private braai area, patio and splash pool, with clear views of the wildlife. Shops and restaurants are nearby. Bring mosquito spray and expect some large bugs outside, including Christmas Beetles. Mosquito nets are provided in the bedrooms, though we didn't need them. This place has everything, and you won't be disappointed.

We booked and paid in full, then travelled for two days to reach this beautiful location. Unlocking the door was a horror. The place was filthy: beds weren't made, rubbish bags were on the floors, the kitchen was dirty and used, the toilets had been used, and nothing had been cleaned. There was even a dead snake under the coffee table. When we called, the owners said "oh shame" about the state we found it in and said they'd try to get cleaners there within an hour. We locked up and left after they promised a full refund. It was Sunday afternoon, and we then had to find somewhere else to stay and pay for that too. Absolutely not recommended.

Marloth Park makes a great holiday destination. Living in the bushveld with animals visiting while you braai is priceless. Winter is lovely, with temperatures around 30 degrees C. Mopani Villa was a relaxing, comfortable home with a gas geyser and gas stove.

Mopani Villa really impressed me. It's a self-catering house with everything you need, from sharp knives and air-condition to towels, bedding, a braai area and a pool. A family of six could stay comfortably for an extended visit. The house is nicely decorated to fit in with Marloth Park, and it's close to both the shopping centre and the river. The road past the house isn't busy. The owners were friendly and helpful, even though they weren't there. I'd recommend staying here. And while the animals are awesome, that's just what Marloth Park is about.
