After an 11-hour flight from the UK and a five-hour drive on a hot day, we arrived at Shades of Nature to find a beautiful holiday home, spotlessly clean and wonderfully cool inside. The spacious rooms were tastefully furnished, according to my wife, and the long galley kitchen was huge, with everything we needed plus a large chest freezer. We loved sitting on the big covered veranda with its built-in braai, enjoying the setting and the animals. Kudu, bushbuck, warthogs, wildebeest, banded mongooses, and duiker visited constantly, keen for the approved feed pellets sold at the local store. We also saw guinea fowl and plenty of birds, including sunbirds, hornbills, drongos, glossy starlings, woodpeckers, and coucals. The splash pool was perfect for cooling off after game viewing or a walk around Marloth Park. We were impressed with the house, furnishings, and location, and have no hesitation recommending Shades of Nature. We’re already planning to return next year. Thanks, Jan Mulder, for the perfect holiday to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary.

The house felt clean, spacious, and really comfortable, a home away from home. I’d definitely go back for the peace and quiet, and the breathtaking nature I saw on a walk there. This is absolutely a place to visit.

We had a perfect friends’ holiday in this spotless house, which was exactly as described and in a great spot for seeing animals. It’s stunning accommodation, with a fully equipped kitchen stocked with spices, foil, containers, and serving dishes. The extra freezer was handy, and swimming towels were provided. My only requests for a longer stay would be two sets of towels, since ours started to smell towards the end, and a replacement kettle because the one provided is rusting. Apart from that, a perfect stay.

The kudus and wildebeest even came by for breakfast! We really enjoyed staying here. The house is modern and clean, with spacious air-conditioned rooms, a lovely large kitchen, and a covered verandah looking over the pool and braai area. It has all the conveniences you need for a great holiday.

Lots of animals came by, and we really enjoyed our stay. It felt very luxurious.
