HWH Guesthouse Middelburg

I’ve stayed at HWH Guesthouse twice for work. The rooms are clean and comfortable, but breakfast has been very poor both times, with no improvement on my latest visit. Staff weren’t in the dining area, so we were left to finish on our own. Breakfast was ready before I was, and the eggs were cold when I sat down. I was told to reheat them in a microwave, which didn’t seem ideal and raised health concerns. The avocado was brown, the beans were very low quality, and there was barely a spoonful of mushrooms. We got two cold chicken Viennas and only four slices of bread for two people. Coffee was instant, with only white sugar and cold milk, and the yogurt was a small Spar-brand cup. The rooms are fine for a short stay, but I wouldn’t recommend eating breakfast here. If you book, plan to eat elsewhere.

The staff are professional and friendly, and the place is immaculate and very well managed. It feels homely while still meeting a world class standard. I know where I’ll stay when I’m in Mpumalanga, Middleburg.

The host was so friendly that we were even allowed to look at the rooms and pick the one we wanted. Our room was spacious, clean, and neat. Everything was a wow, and I’d happily come back again and again.

Getting out of the parking area is something else, but I really enjoyed my stay. The place is beautifully maintained, with lovely rooms, modern finishes, and plenty of privacy. They have clean, fresh linen, housekeeping, secure parking, laundry service, air conditioning, a bar fridge, and a coffee bar. Breakfast was good and served in the dining area. I’d recommend it.
