Breakfast was good, but lunch was a letdown: I ordered a medium-rare steak and got a dry, well-done one. My room had no mini-bar or refrigerator, which I’m sure it should have, and towels were a recurring hassle. Housekeeping took them in the morning, and after 5pm I had to ask for just one towel back. What hotel doesn’t have a towel in the room? Most staff were polite and helpful, and the security guards were particularly nice. They even remembered my name the second time my licence was scanned at the entrance. One woman in the restaurant seemed oblivious to being at work. It wasn’t a bad stay, but these little things got annoying.

Housekeeping was quick and excellent whenever we asked for extra towels or fresh linen. But the pillows and sheets smelled so strongly of age that I couldn’t use them and had to request replacements. The shower stayed cold, so I had to wash in cold water for two days. The carpets were stained and filthy, and dust bothered me at night. Reception was never at the desk when we passed. If these issues were fixed, the stay would have been pleasant.

Breakfast and lunch were enjoyable, but dinner was a different matter. The roast beef and chicken were both too dry and overcooked. The dessert crust was so hard I couldn’t finish it. I also would’ve liked a fridge in the room, and the carpets needed vacuuming. The dust was suffocating me at night.

The food took so long to arrive that I asked them to cancel it, and then it suddenly showed up. There was no fridge in my room either. I called to get that sorted, but nothing was done, so I guess keeping tomorrow's food wasn't important to them. The service was easily the worst I've had in a long time. You can expect to wait around until staff feel like helping. Don't stay here, there are plenty of other places nearby.
