Wildlife on the trails was a real treat: we saw tortoises, giraffe, wildebeest and zebras, and the jeep tracks are good for walking, running or mountain biking. The hills and silence made the place feel almost otherworldly, especially with how remote it is. Manwa welcomed us warmly, and his care for people and conservation came through. The campsite is basic but clean, spacious and better equipped than we expected, with a sink and counter, indoor bathroom with bath, basin and toilet, outdoor shower, and thoughtful supplies including soap, dishwashing liquid and firewood. We left amazed by the beauty of South Africa. For more about our visit at African Game Lodge, see Instagram @TrailParks.

The Game Drive was a highlight, giving us a lovely way to take in the location. We didn't see a lot of animals, but that didn't take away from how special the outing felt. Every activity seemed unique, and the whole team put so much care into making our stay magical. We were grateful to find this place, it became one of the best parts of our trip. Thanks to everyone there.

We had a lovely game drive the next morning. Even though we arrived late, the host was very welcoming and offered to arrange supper when we asked. The burger and chips were so good they could give meals from many master chefs a run for their money. What an experience.

A lovely escape from the city, with rolling hills and the quiet of nature all around. We didn't see many animals, though.

Jan took us on a beautiful game drive and picnic overlooking the waterhole. We got caught in the rain, which somehow made it even more fun. Elijah was always ready to help, pointed out animals and cooked us a delicious dinner. The owners and staff made us feel like family. The chalets are simple, very clean and nicely designed, with an outdoor braai and a fireplace; we had four bags of firewood and fire starters on arrival. It's child-friendly, and a baby cot can be requested. Two nights or more would give you time to relax, enjoy the scenery and look for game.
