After our long, hot trip, the hosts were just what we needed: so welcoming and friendly. The cottage was spotless, with a beautiful room, fully equipped kitchen, and a lovely shaded outdoor seating area. It’s a private oasis with every modern convenience you could need. The extras in the kitchen were a first for me: rusks, breakfast cereal, fruit, and even a flower floating in the loo. Highly recommend this self-catering cottage.

Somerset Lodge is beautiful and sits in a quiet part of town. David, the owner, was a star, friendly and attentive, and went far beyond what was expected to help us. My husband fell ill at 23h00 on Sunday, and I woke David to ask about a doctor or hospital. First thing the next morning, he came to our door to check how my husband was doing. Thank you again, David.

Thanks, David, for making our stay so pleasant. Somerset Lodge is a real gem, with beautiful gardens, a lovely pool, and a peaceful, clean feel. If you're after somewhere private and classy to get away from the world, I'd recommend it.

The location was pretty good, but the room didn't match the advertised photos of a newly renovated bathroom with tiles. It felt old and smelled mouldy, with wooden floors in both the bathroom and bedroom.

A quiet spot away from the daily hustle, with a pool that was a welcome break from the heat. The kids were especially taken with the property's two little dogs. The self-catering rooms are private and just up the road from Spar, the petrol station, and restaurants.
