The owner sorted out the electricity quickly when it was off on our arrival. We really liked the room, which is set up like a bachelor apartment and has everything you need. The linen and towels were clean and smelled fresh. There was a slight smell in the toilet, probably because the bathroom has no outside window and relies on an extractor fan. The place is lovely, well kept, and in a great location. I would have stayed for my whole Newcastle visit, but they were fully booked.

Newcastle was a first for us, and it turned out to be a beautiful town. We had a great overnight stay in a lovely unit with a nice garden and host. For two people self-catering, R600 was a very reasonable rate.

The place itself is awesome, but Black's are treated differently because their Colour is not unique like other races. My Africans vele uzifunele indawo enye, trust me on this, after what I experienced this past weekend on the 31 June 2025.

On our way back to Umhlanga, we stopped here just to sleep for the night. The rooms were small, but very tidy and clean, and the kitchen had everything we needed to cook an evening meal. A little more space and a spot closer to town would have made it five stars.
