Sleep Easy Guest House

Friday night was quiet and comfortable, and the bed itself was comfortable too. The second night was a different story. Guests arrived after 2 am in the room next door and partied and argued extremely loudly. Staff didn’t step in until 8 am, when my partner went to tell them what was happening. They were still carrying on while we packed and when we left. We assume more people were staying in rooms than the rooms could accommodate. The room had several issues. The bathroom doors didn’t close properly, the cupboard had no backboard, the tea and coffee were poor quality so we bought our own, and there was just one toilet roll with no spare. We also had to ask for another towel, even though the booking was for two people. When we arrived at 4 pm, the staff greeted us in what looked like pyjamas. When my partner asked the owner for a refund, she refused and said we should have left and found somewhere else, and she would have paid for it. That would have meant leaving during curfew hours, from midnight to 4 am, which was illegal under the Covid 19 pandemic rules. As she should know, no guesthouse would take guests in the middle of the night.
