Vineyard Hotel

I keep coming back to The Vineyard, sometimes two or three times a year. The rooms have the usual hotel comforts, but it's the staff who make this place stand out. They're attentive, helpful, thoughtful, and caring, and I give management credit for the training behind that service. On one visit, our group of seven was served by Trust in the courtyard restaurant. About ten minutes after we left, he called because I had forgotten 400Rand on the table. I hadn't heard the call clearly and thought I might have left my hand sanitiser, so I went back down. Trust had kept the money safe and returned it to me. He could easily have assumed it was an extra tip, but he didn't. It's the honesty behind his name that stayed with me. I've stayed here many times, and when things go wrong on work trips or while travelling, I do complain. If it's poor service, I usually hold management responsible for not training staff properly. At The Vineyard, both the team and management deserve praise. Thank you, Trust, and thank you, The Vineyard. See you again soon.

The concierge staff were fantastic, though the wait staff didn't impress us as much. Our room felt old and dated, and the thick carpet was dirty. It was our first stay, and I couldn't help feeling disappointed. Maybe the hotel was gorgeous once, but at the price, it was only an okay stay. Next time I'd rather find somewhere clean and modern.

We had dinner on the Garden Lounge's outside patio, a peaceful spot that felt like a little park. There was a broad range of dishes to choose from, and the food was solid quality for the price. We enjoyed the evening and would happily return.

We were so sad to leave. The staff were friendly and eager to help with whatever we needed, and the gardens at the foot of Table Mountain were exquisite. The pool was gorgeous, and the gym was well equipped. We enjoyed the food throughout, from breakfast and room service to dinner on the terrace.
