A real gem in Oudtshoorn. The guest house has plenty of character, the owners welcomed us sincerely, and the hospitality was warm throughout. The ostrich farm and lodge are less than 15 minutes away, and the property feels safe. Best of all, its breakfast was easily the most sumptuous we've enjoyed during our three weeks on the road. 88 Baron van Reede was the highlight of our road trip. Go with your eyes closed! I slept so well in this peaceful, cozy guesthouse. The hosts were warm and attentive throughout, and the room was beautifully designed with care in every detail. They'd even put socks by the door to block the light coming underneath, a small touch that made a real difference to my rest. Highly recommend this thoughtful, welcoming place for a comfortable stay.

We only booked one night for our honeymoon and later wished we'd stayed longer. Magda greeted us with a big smile and a friendly welcome, even though we arrived before check-in. Then, before we'd even set our bags down, Christo had fixed a problem with our car. The service went beyond what we expected. Our room was clean and comfortable, and breakfast was excellent and freshly cooked. We really enjoyed our time here and will definitely return on our next trip.

Christo and his daughter Clarissa were marvellous hosts, always ready to help. The spotless rooms were very comfortable, the food was divine, and there was plenty of parking. Charming gardens and a great location in town made it easy to walk everywhere. One of the best places I've ever stayed. Highly recommended. Frank & Michele

I stayed for two nights while cycling across SA and loved the place. The rooms were super clean and comfortable, and the location was quiet, with the pool, main shops, and restaurants all a short walk away. Magda and Cristo were very kind and friendly hosts. It felt like five-star luxury.
