Blye Uitsig

I loved the quiet nights and old farm feel. Such a welcoming, friendly host, and we had a great time. I’d recommend staying here.

We were a group of seven, four adults and three teenagers, travelling from Graaff-Reinet to Cape Town and looking for somewhere to rest for the night. Everything was clean, from the fluffy towels to the snow-white sheets, which made the stay pleasant. The owner had turned on the aircons before we arrived on that hot day, and when the WiFi wasn’t working, she got on the phone and sorted it out. We asked when we needed to leave, and since nobody was arriving after us, she said we could go whenever suited us. Our family will definitely support Byle Uitsig again.

There’s fun for young and old, and the bacon and chicken salad was divine. It had much more than just lettuce, though I wanted to, I couldn’t finish it. Please give the food a try.

We stayed one winter night and loved lighting the kitchen fire to braai our meat. The accommodation has a charming old-time feel, beautiful linen and reasonably good equipment.
