The stillness was one of the best parts of our stay at Karoo Retreat. In such a chaotic world, the quiet felt deeply restorative. The staff were friendly, helpful and clearly wanted us to have a memorable time. A special thanks to Aunty Maria, whose daily cleaning kept our villa immaculate and welcoming. We stayed in a self-catering villa, equipped with everything we needed. The air conditioning was a lifesaver on warm Karoo days. There’s an on-site shop with wine, snacks and sweets for a relaxed evening on the stoep, and after days exploring the area, the beautiful triangular pool was a joy. Karoo Retreat Luxury Self-catering Villas became our cherished home away from home this past week. I’m still basking in the afterglow of pure relaxation. It’s more than a place to stay, it’s an experience that rejuvenates your soul.

The villas at Karoo retreat in Oudtshoorn are stunning, stylish and peaceful, and a perfect place to stay. The staff were friendly and helpful, and we all loved our time in the beautiful villas. Thank you for supporting my work. I’m Safta award winning actress Aunty Ivy from 7de laan, currently Ragel in Skemergrond on Kyknet, Nazli george. Wishing you all the best, and may you keep going from strength to strength. Book now, it’s the right thing to do!

We were comfortable during our few nights there. The main bedroom is upstairs and the bathroom is downstairs, which might not suit everyone, but it worked fine for us and we had no nighttime falls. The staff were friendly and helpful whenever we needed them, and there’s a large parking area tucked behind walls and gates. The minimalist modern look isn’t really our style, though everything was clean, comfortable and good quality. The location is especially convenient, central but on a quiet side road and easy to find.

The gardens are beautiful, and the pool is amazing. We found the rooms spacious, clean and neat, with air conditioning, which was a great addition in the heat. Breakfast came in such a generous portion that I couldn’t finish it all. The place is picturesque and in a safe area, and the staff were very friendly. I’d recommend it!

It was 35 degrees Celsius when we arrived, but the rooms were already cool. We only stayed one night, and the kids headed straight for the pool as soon as we got there. I knew we’d need air conditioning and a pool, and this place delivered on both.
