Lodge 96

The kitchen was dirty, and the fridge only somewhat clean. Although he knew how many people were coming and had plenty of time to prepare, the host brought knives, forks and towels from his own house. The grounds looked overgrown, dirty and messy, and didn't look like the pictures. He was friendly when we arrived, but during our very short visit he kept getting in our faces and wouldn't respect our privacy. We had some small talk by the pool while the kids swam, but he didn't leave us alone. He nearly walked in on the small children getting dressed without knocking, even though the door doesn't lock or close properly. He repeatedly walked into the back house where the adults were staying without knocking or saying anything. He also pushed past my brother in law, who was standing in the doorway, to get inside for some reason. We appreciate friendly people, but family comes first, especially when it comes to the kids. A host has responsibilities and there are boundaries that shouldn't be crossed. We left as soon as we could. The family felt very uncomfortable, and after about two hours we decided to find somewhere else because the behavior felt overbearing and somewhat invasive and inappropriate. Honestly, if we'd stayed longer I think I would've punched the guy. He may be a nice person, but he needs to set some boundaries.
