A pleasant place to stay when you're in Oudtshoorn.

We hadn't expected Oudtshoorn to be such a highlight. We were told there wasn't much for the average tourist to do, but Harriet and John persuaded us to spend four nights with them and explore. The town and surrounding area turned out to be beautiful and well worth visiting. Their garden house in the backyard was a lovely surprise, a small place with everything we needed, including a swimming pool. Harriet and John are warm, kind and spontaneous. They looked after us, shared information, arranged tickets and helped organize things, so we felt completely at home. We had planned our own three-week South Africa holiday, sorting out the flights, accommodation, rental car and the rest ourselves. We wanted to get a better sense of everyday life rather than focus mainly on tourist attractions. Our route took us from Somerset West through Oudtshoorn, Montagu, Clanwilliam and Yzerfontein, then back to Somerset West. Thanks again, John and Harriet, for all your effort. Maybe we'll see you again.

Harriet and John were great, and this quiet, safe residential spot made a handy base for exploring the area. There are two separate bedrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, comfortable chairs and a sofa. We could also use the small terrace and pool. A lovely place for a holiday, highly recommended!

John and Harriet made our time in Oudtshoorn feel special. They even came along on our outings and showed us places we might have missed otherwise, so we got much more out of our time there. They were warm and welcoming from the start, with a real interest in their guests and plenty of knowledge about the region. They showed us around, told us stories about local culture and shared tips we wouldn't have found in guidebooks. Staying with them felt like more than just having somewhere to sleep. It was a personal, heartfelt experience that added a lot to the trip. I'd recommend them to anyone looking for warmth and a genuine connection.
