De Wingerd Wijnland Lodge

The one good part was that our room was clean and the bathroom was nice. But the rooms run along a passage with no soundproofing, so a light sleeper could have a hard time. It feels like a dormitory. The booking said breakfast was included, but when we asked at 8:45, we were turned away. They said you have to phone the manager when booking to confirm you’ll be having breakfast. That’s ridiculous.

I was there for a two-night business stay, and the rooms were clean, but the lack of professionalism was a problem. When I checked out on 7th October 2025, nobody was at the premises. I’d asked for an invoice on the 6th October and was told everyone was on leave. As a result, I had to cover the trip cost myself instead of charging it to my employer. I can’t recommend this for business trips.

Stefano really looks after this special place, which is owner run. I spent five days there and found the atmosphere calm and tranquil. The staff stay on top of things, and breakfast was great, especially the cheese omelette. It’s also very well located, and I’d recommend it.

We had spacious, bright and clean rooms with comfortable beds, balconies and views of the pool and mountains. The breakfast nook has a lovely outlook too, over the trees, pool area and mountains. Charmagne was especially helpful. When I asked to move from the side without a view, she sorted it out with a big smile and no fuss.
