Nieuview

Cottage #1 was extremely disappointing. These “luxury” cottages seem to rely on their location. They may once have been beautiful, but they’re absolutely not being maintained. The downstairs bathroom was next level disgusting and unhygienic, as shown in the photos. The pillows on the bed were extremely old, unhygienic and uncomfortable, and the downstairs mattresses were terrible. The dishwasher handle was completely broken, so we couldn’t open it the next morning to use the dishes. The cleaner was lovely, so this is 💯 the owner’s downfall.

We won a stay at Nieuview Cottages through a lucky draw, and the cottage surpassed our expectations. It’s beautifully decorated, well equipped, and in a very quiet part of Paternoster with direct beach access. There’s even a little pool, though I wish the water had been a little warmer. We enjoyed making a meal in the indoor braai. The bathroom, toilet, and bed are upstairs, which is a bit awkward. A guest toilet downstairs would have been a bonus, and the upstairs light switches only work at the bottom of the stairs. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend the cottage or visit again.

Nieuview Cottages is a winner, and the daily cleaners were very friendly and professional. The views are beautiful, the accommodation is thoughtfully laid out, and the secluded pool area is a gem. With the West Coast wind, the indoor braai was lovely. A few things were difficult: no shower facilities made it hard to shower during beach breaks, and complimentary water would have been a nice touch. There was no battery backup during loadshedding. Paternoster security is definitely challenging. Fishermen came right up to the sliding door facing the beach to sell their catch, which felt intimidating. Well done.

The private terrace is a great place to watch an incredible sunset. Nieuview in Paternoster has stunning beachfront views and easy, direct beach access. A lovely spot to unwind by the sea, highly recommended.
