Paternoster Dunes Boutique Guesthouse

I finally got to enjoy the Christmas present my husband Stefan gave me, a voucher for “THE PERFECT” treatment at The Dunes Beauty. The name really fits. It was a 60-minute full body massage and a facial with Aquila, whose name means eagle. Shooooeeeee, those hands knew just where to fly and land. I've had plenty of massages on trips and at retreats, so I'm pretty picky. Aquila was top-notch: the pressure, rhythm and calm confidence all felt just right. During the facial, I was lying there blissed out and thought about how people often ask us at Studio Sea Love, that personal connection space in the Paternoster Waterfront, where to go, what to do and who we recommend. So I'll sometimes share honest, objective reviews of my own experiences around Paternoster, places that add something special to our little seaside village. This experience at The Dunes Beauty deserves the first ripple. Thanks, Aquila. I floated out feeling as if I'd taken a quiet swim through a warm kelp forest. Breakfast changes every day, with gourmet choices and a hot option. The afternoon cakes and honesty bar were nice touches too. This is a small hotel, about 5 or 6 rooms, so it stays quiet and has lots of personal details. The robes, toiletries and complimentary rusks were appreciated, and the care in the rooms shows. The beach frontage is incredible, with a great sunset view. Staff were welcoming and professional. Just know the shower is open to the room, so it suits couples best.

There's a spa on the property, and the ocean views from the restaurant, honesty bar and lounge are amazing. Our room was comfortable, well appointed and opened directly onto the beach. The location is magic, and the staff are lovely and friendly. We had a lovely stay and would come again.

We came for our anniversary, and the staff really went all out for us. Such a stunning place. Thanks so much to everyone, definitely worth visiting if you're nearby.
