We had no mobile coverage at all, and the linen didn’t seem or smell very fresh. Still, I wouldn’t change anything else about our camp. The rain had left the road tricky, though they planned to fix it within a few days, and the mud and puddles became part of the camping fun for us. My six-year-old loved the whole place. They fitted an extra bed beside ours for her, and it was really comfortable without costing a fortune like it can elsewhere. There are seven or eight lovely giraffes on the property. They may not come to your tent, but you can get fairly close by driving a few hundred metres around. We also spotted a little nest with eggs in the bathroom and enjoyed watching it. The shower was simple but good, with no trouble getting hot water, and bugs weren’t an issue. It was rainy, so we didn’t miss having air conditioning much.

We enjoyed the stay. The farm was a calm, laid-back escape from city noise, and the food was fresh and nice. Phone signal was hard to get, which was especially noticeable with load shedding in South Africa and on the farm too. Camping Tamy, with a bed and shower, made for a really special experience.

The manager and staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We spotted giraffes strolling nearby on our morning walk, and it’s a lovely spot for birdwatching. Set among trees, the place has a luxury tent with white sheets and soft towels. Such a surprising experience, you need to visit!

Anton, the owner, was a great host and did all he could to make our stay comfortable and memorable. The staff were friendly and helpful too. We could make a fire in our own space at night or spend time with the other guests at the big boma, and Anton also runs game drives with pickup from the tented camp in a game viewing vehicle. It’s family friendly, and a luxury tented camp well worth a stay. The location worked well for getting away from the hustle and bustle without feeling secluded, about a 10-minute drive from Sun City and 15 minutes from Pilanesberg. One of our most memorable stays so far.

Song was a great help and made sure we were comfortable during our stay. We had a lovely time there. The tents felt very secure, and even through a thunderstorm and bad weather, we stayed safe and warm.
