Moholoholo Mountain View

Still a beautiful place to visit, and I absolutely loved staying here again. The Boma was a favorite, though it was missing one basic thing, a kitchen basin. The cutlery wasn’t great either. I had to ask for bigger plates, and the other items were a bit unwashed and oily.

My daughter had booked Mountain View months ahead for her wedding photos, and we’d even driven around the property with the guide beforehand to choose locations. On the day, the guide didn’t show up and refused to let us onto the property. We lost so much time and ended up stopping at the roadside to take pictures. While we were wandering around, the guide came across us with a woman and picnic items. He’d skipped our wedding photos to go on a date, and our photos were completely ruined. There were wild buffalo roaming around, and the guide didn’t seem to care that we were inexperienced and walking along the roadside trying to get pictures. It was dangerous. What if a buffalo had charged? But what were we supposed to do, miss the wedding photos altogether? I’ve never encountered such a negligent and uncaring guide.

We booked Mountain View for some wedding guests and for our photos, and the young guide who was meant to help us treated us terribly. Elderly guests were left waiting in extreme heat at check-in because he arrived over 30 minutes after he said he would. We nearly lost the photo session too: he wouldn’t let us onto the property, then was later found taking someone on a date at the location we’d chosen for our pictures.

A quiet place with lots of space and a great atmosphere. The facilities are basic but excellent, and breakfast was absolutely delicious. I regret choosing a restaurant in Hoedspruit for dinner instead. The gentleman at the gate was very friendly, as was the younger gentleman who showed us to our bungalow and helped us. All in all, we loved it.
