The service was horrifying. I paid in full when I booked the whole guest house about three weeks ahead. I was due to check in on the 28th, hold my event on the 29th, and check out on the 30th of Novermber. Around 11:30AM on the 28th of November 2025, the day I was supposed to arrive, the white man managing the place called to say he had to cancel because they'd accidentally double booked it. He said the other clients had booked two months ago and that he'd refund me or I'd have to postpone. Guests were travelling from far away and already on their way, planning to book rooms there when they arrived. I found his nerve unbelievable. He was horribly rude, said he was cancelling me and there was nothing I could do, and didn't apologize. I felt he treated me this way because I'm a woman and black. He offered me a dirty old, boring veranda for my event, which I refused. How do you only realize you've double booked the whole guest house on check-in day? Their booking system seems like nonsense, or maybe they got a better offer and cancelled my booking. I wasn't happy with the space for the event, so I cancelled and asked for a full refund. He kept saying he'd make the transfer, then delayed paying me back even after I called several times to explain I'd found another venue and needed the money to pay for it. In the end, while I was at work, I sent my friend there to get my money back and told her not to leave until they'd paid. I was close to calling the police because they seemed to think I'd just accept it. They finally paid around 17:30 to 18:00. I don't recommend booking here. It's a beautiful place, but I'd choose good service and professionalism over looks any day. If you still book, do it at your own risk and have a plan B. You could end up with no accommodation and awful service, and don't expect an apology.

I recommend this place because it was convenient for getting to the nearby hospital for work, and the rates were cheap. The rooms were neat and clean, with Wi-Fi, a fridge, microwave, bathroom, aircon, TV with dstv, and storage space. The staff were welcoming and the owners helpful. Eating places are nearby, and breakfast was available as an option. Rooms were cleaned daily, and all our belongings were safe.

The place was exceptionally clean and well cared for. I stayed here while in PMB for work and had a great experience.

The only real plus for me was the central location in a great neighbourhood. The rest made for a very disappointing stay: music and radios were playing at 5:00 am, general maintenance seemed far behind, and there wasn't even basic cutlery in the room. After a hard day's work, I also wanted peace and quiet, and for breakfast to be remembered in the morning. If those things matter to you, this place isn't a good fit. I wouldn't recommend it and won't be back.
